Cleaning, Beautifying, and making historic The Shilo (Black) Cemetary

What we do at the Shilo Cemetery.

Black Families of Hutto has lead an initiative to carry on work by the Kerley family and other volunteers to maintain the Shilo Cemetery.

Our goal is to keep the cemetery beautiful and free of trash. We have hosted several community clean-up efforts to remove trash that was dumped for over 30 years in this sacred place where Black citizens have been laid to rest, some since the 1800s.
